Frequently Asked Questions

Canadian Coastal sailing tours are designed to be a safe and adventurous outdoor activity. We offer fully crewed private and shared sailboat tours departing from Squamish, only a short drive from Vancouver and Whistler.

It is important that you to feel confident in your decision to sail with us. In addition to our regular Frequently Asked Questions, please review the following information regarding our new measures and guidelines.

What hygiene measures and sanitary guidelines has Canadian Coastal implemented?

As sailors, we practice the tradition of 'shipshape,' meaning that our maintenance, safety and cleaning protocols have always aimed high and exceeded the requirements of governing authorities.

To reduce the potential spread of COVID-19, in-depth sanitization of check-in facilities, vessel cabin and outside decks is completed prior to departure. In addition to regular cleaning, new disinfection procedures have been added to increase the sanitization of frequently touched areas such as rails, tables, door handles and the cabin.

What hygiene protocols are in place?

  • Hand sanitizers have been added in the most strategic areas of the docks and vessels.

  • Guests will receive a mask as part of their check-in package.

  • Snack and beverage service has been temporarily discontinued.

  • On shared tours, a maximum number of 'social bubbles' will be allowed on board, and guests from different bubbles will be separated by 2 meters.

Are you monitoring the health of guests and staff?

Employee’s health is monitored and we require employees to stay home if they are sick. Guests are asked screening questions upon check-in and use hand sanitizer before boarding. Physical distancing procedures have been implemented during check-in, embarking, sailing, and disembarking.

How is physical distancing maintained on tours shared with others?

On shared tours, a maximum number of 'social bubbles' will be allowed on board, and guests from different bubbles will be separated by 2 meters.

Physical distancing protocols are being implemented during check-in, embarking, sailing, and disembarking.

Will sick people be refused?

Yes. Access to the vessel will be refused to any guest who is symptomatic, has recently travelled or who has been in contact with a suspected, probable, or confirmed case of COVID-19. No exceptions will be made.

Are masks required?

Guests are required to bring a mask or will be given a mask upon arrival. Masks are required to be worn in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained. For example, if two people from different social bubbles are below deck at the same time.
